I hope you are well and enjoying the change of season.
Please join us this Wednesday evening as we commemorate our nine homeless brothers and sisters who passed over the last year on the Cape. We will be participating in the annual Homeless Memorial taking place on Wednesday the 21st at 5:30 at the Federated Church on Main st in Hyannis. There’s a little more info on the event at http://www.nhchc.org/resources/consumer/homeless-persons-memorial-day/
During the evening we will offer chanting for the deceased (En Mei Jukku Kannon Gyo) within a short Buddhist service. Your voices would be most welcome if you’re able to attend. Later, participants will proceed from the church to the village green for more of the memorial.
Needless to say, we won’t be hosting practice this Wednesday evening.
Then, after that, we’re off to retreat at Wisdom House in CT with Village Zendo. If you’re interested in the winter sesshin (Dec. 26- Jan. 1) check it out on villagezendo.org. It’s a great beginners retreat, feel free to call me with any questions you may have.
The zendo will suspend practice after the Homeless memorial and we will resume our normal schedule with evening practice on January 4th.
