Winter Ango

Dear Friends,

Beginning on December 26th we will be entering our 90 day winter practice period. During winter ango (which translated from Japanese as “peaceful dwelling”) we have the opportunity to turn the light inwards and deepen our practice. Our windy, salty, and (often) freezing spit of sand poking out in the Atlantic is the perfect place for it!

To inspire and help us use this time well, I’m including links to Enkyo Roshi’s ango letter, our practice leader, Jiryu’s letter; the ango commitment form; and our study text.

When we reopen after winter sesshin (on January 2nd) Hyannis Zendo will be offering extended weekly practice times along with our monthly retreats with Provincetown Zen Center. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

gassho,
fugan
